A striking vintage English handmade burr oak refectory dining table of generous proportions, crafted from beautifully figured solid oak with a natural live edge top.

The table is formed from wide burr oak planks displaying dramatic grain movement, burr clusters, and natural figuring throughout. The organic live edges retain the character of the original timber, creating a sculptural profile along both sides of the table. The warm honey tone and rich figuring give the piece considerable visual depth and a tactile presence.

Decorative square butterfly joint repairs inset into the top celebrate traditional craftsmanship while also stabilising the timber, an age-old furniture making technique often associated with bespoke studio furniture and contemporary artisan workshops.

The table stands on four substantial chamfered oak legs set with a slight outward rake, giving the piece a confident architectural stance while maintaining excellent stability and legroom. The simple refectory form ensures the table sits comfortably in both traditional country interiors and more contemporary design-led spaces.

At 180 cm in length, the table comfortably seats eight people, making it an ideal centrepiece for a farmhouse kitchen, country house dining room, or modern rustic interior.

A bold yet elegant example of handmade English furniture where natural timber character is allowed to take centre stage.
