Antique Rectangular Victorian Sycamore Painted Pine Kitchen Farmhouse Dining Table, c1890. L122

A characterful Antique Rectangular Victorian Sycamore and Painted Pine Kitchen Farmhouse Dining Table, c.1890, combining rustic charm with Victorian practicality. This compact dining table, with its sycamore plank top and painted pine base, exemplifies the robust construction and simple elegance of late 19th-century English country furniture.

Measuring 1219mm in length, 926mm in width, and 750mm in height (609mm to the apron), the table is ideally proportioned for four diners, making it perfect for a farmhouse kitchen, cottage dining room, or breakfast space. The well-worn sycamore top has developed a wonderful patina, with visible grain patterns and natural marks of use that add warmth and authenticity.

The painted pine base, finished in a dark country house blue-grey, provides a striking contrast to the pale top while highlighting the turned Victorian legs. The sturdy design ensures durability, while the original proportions and practical size make it highly versatile — suitable not only as a dining table, but also as a kitchen prep table, writing desk, or decorative centrepiece.

This is a fine example of Victorian farmhouse furniture, offering everyday practicality paired with timeless rustic style. Its modest footprint makes it especially appealing for modern interiors seeking antique character without sacrificing space.

An attractive and functional antique dining table, full of Victorian charm and ready for everyday use.
