A superb early 18th-century English oak console table from the Queen Anne period, c.1710, displaying over three centuries of patination, wear and hand-tooled character. This beautifully compact console or hall table features a thick two-plank oak top with a wonderfully age-cracked surface, crisp carved edge moulding, and a desirable deep, near-ebonised colour developed through generations of use. The turned front legs, block feet, simple stretchers and shaped friezes reflect the restrained provincial interpretation of Queen Anne design, making the table both practical and quietly elegant.
