Antique Oak Arts and Crafts Spanish Coffee Table, c.1920

Antique Oak Arts and Crafts Spanish Coffee Table, c.1920

Ref: 2242

A charming and highly decorative Arts and Crafts oak coffee table dating from circa 1920, influenced by the Spanish Revival style that became increasingly fashionable during the early twentieth century. Constructed from solid oak throughout, the table displays a wonderfully rich honey-coloured patina with attractive grain patterns and character developed over decades of use.

The rectangular top is supported by a distinctive pair of shaped trestle ends united by elegant wrought iron stretchers, a hallmark of Spanish and Mediterranean-inspired furniture of the period. The decorative ironwork provides both structural strength and visual contrast against the warmth of the oak, creating a striking yet understated design. The shaped end supports and handcrafted construction reflect the Arts and Crafts movement’s emphasis on honest materials, quality workmanship and functional beauty.

Compact in size yet highly versatile, this table would work beautifully as a coffee table, occasional table, lamp table or display piece within a country house, cottage, farmhouse or period-inspired interior. Its simple architectural form allows it to blend effortlessly with both antique and contemporary furnishings.

Presented in excellent condition with a desirable aged surface, retaining plenty of original character and patination. A particularly appealing example of Arts and Crafts furniture with strong Spanish Revival influences and decorative wrought iron detailing.
