Antique Mid Victorian Pine Mirrored Dressing Chest of Two Over Two Drawers, c.1850

Antique Mid Victorian Pine Mirrored Dressing Chest of Two Over Two Drawers, c.1850

A charming Mid Victorian pine dressing chest dating to around 1850, complete with its original swing mirror and an attractive arrangement of two over two graduated drawers. This wonderfully authentic piece captures the warmth and character that only 19th-century pine can provide, with a light golden tone, visible knots and tactile wear that speak to generations of use. The shaped supports, small raised trinket drawers and circular display shelves add a decorative flourish, giving the chest both sculptural interest and practicality for modern bedrooms, guest rooms and cottage interiors.

The mirror shows pleasing age and foxing, contributing to the chest’s period authenticity. The drawers run well for their age and retain ornate Victorian brass handles that contrast beautifully with the natural timber. Raised on turned bun feet, the chest has a gentle presence and sits comfortably in both contemporary rustic settings and more traditional schemes. Its generous proportions make it a highly functional storage piece while the integrated dressing mirror ensures it remains a standout, multi-purpose addition to the home. A classic and desirable Victorian pine dressing chest that continues to offer charm, utility and decorative appeal.
