A beautifully honest late Victorian pine farmhouse kitchen dining table, dating to around 1890, retaining a wonderful scrubbed pine plank top over a painted chateau grey base.

The table features a traditional plank top formed from wide boards displaying superb natural wear, historic staining and surface character accumulated through generations of use. The mellow tone of the pine contrasts beautifully with the understated painted base, finished in a soft muted chateau grey that compliments both traditional and contemporary interiors.

Raised on elegant tapering legs with a simple apron frame, the proportions are particularly appealing — long and relatively narrow — making the table ideal for kitchens, dining rooms, garden rooms or even as a console-style refectory table against a wall.

Tables of this type were the hardworking centrepiece of Victorian domestic life, used daily for food preparation, dining and household work. The surviving wear marks and patina only enhance the authentic farmhouse character that collectors and interior designers now seek.

At 182 cm in length, the table comfortably seats six diners, while its slim width keeps the piece practical for more compact spaces.

A highly decorative and versatile antique farmhouse table with timeless country house appeal.
