Antique Late Victorian Mahogany Oval Dining Breakfast Table, c.1890

Ref: 2241

A superb late Victorian mahogany oval dining or breakfast table dating from circa 1890, offering elegant proportions and excellent versatility for both traditional and contemporary interiors. Crafted in richly figured solid mahogany, the table features a beautifully grained oval top with a warm reddish-brown patina developed over more than a century of careful use.

The top is raised on a finely turned baluster pedestal terminating in an attractive tripod base. The distinctive cabriole legs are enhanced with crisp carved decoration and scroll feet, demonstrating the quality craftsmanship associated with late nineteenth-century cabinetmaking. The table retains its original tilt-top mechanism, allowing the top to be stored vertically when not in use, making it an ideal choice for flexible dining spaces, country kitchens, breakfast rooms, or period townhouses.

Generously sized to comfortably seat four to six people, the table combines practicality with classic Victorian elegance. The warm mahogany colouring and refined silhouette ensure it integrates effortlessly into a wide range of interior schemes, from traditional country house settings to modern heritage-inspired homes.

Presented in excellent antique condition throughout, with a pleasing aged patina and minor characterful wear commensurate with age and use. A particularly attractive and increasingly sought-after Victorian dining table, offering both decorative appeal and everyday functionality.
