A charming late 18th-century George III oak console table, dating to circa 1790, displaying wonderful country house character, beautifully aged timbers and a rich, warm patina developed over more than two centuries.

This attractive Georgian table features a rectangular oak plank top with a gently overhanging edge, above a single central frieze drawer fitted with decorative brass circular handles and an oval brass escutcheon.

The table stands on four elegantly tapered turned legs, each with subtle incised ring decoration beneath the square upper sections. Its simple, well-balanced proportions are characteristic of English country furniture from the late Georgian period.

Constructed in solid oak, the table retains an appealing depth of colour, with visible grain, traditional pegged construction and the natural markings associated with its considerable age. The drawer features a traditional timber construction and offers practical storage for everyday essentials.
