Antique Edwardian Satin Pine Chest of Three Drawers, c1920

A charming antique Edwardian satin pine chest of three drawers, dating to circa 1920, displaying the warm honey-coloured tones, attractive natural grain and understated craftsmanship associated with traditional English country furniture.

Constructed in solid pine, this appealing chest features three generously proportioned drawers, each retaining a pair of decorative Arts and Crafts-influenced metal drop handles. The beautifully detailed backplates display elegant scrolling motifs, providing an attractive contrast against the mellow satin pine.

Each drawer front is embellished with subtle horizontal mouldings and a central keyhole, while traditional dovetail joints demonstrate the cabinetmaking techniques of the period.

The chest is surmounted by a substantial rectangular plank top with a gently projecting edge, providing useful display space for decorative objects, lighting or personal accessories. Below, a shaped apron with bracket-style feet lends the piece a pleasing architectural quality.

The stripped and waxed appearance reveals the natural beauty of the timber, with its distinctive grain, subtle variations in colour and welcoming country house character.

Offering excellent practical storage within relatively compact proportions, this versatile antique chest would sit beautifully within a country cottage bedroom, traditional dressing room, farmhouse interior or contemporary home seeking authentic period furniture.

Presented in good antique condition, displaying attractive natural timber grain, mellow colour and characterful signs of age consistent with its history.

A delightful and practical piece of English country furniture, ready to bring warmth and individuality to its next home.
