A handsome antique Edwardian mahogany writing desk or dressing table, dating to circa 1900, displaying the elegant proportions and restrained decorative detailing of the Georgian Revival period.

Beautifully constructed in mahogany, this versatile piece features a generously proportioned rectangular top with a gently bowed front, displaying attractive grain and a rich, warm colour. Fine decorative stringing follows the contours of the top, providing a subtle contrast to the mahogany and demonstrating the attention to detail associated with traditional English cabinetmaking.

The arrangement of three drawers comprises a long central drawer above two smaller flanking drawers, offering practical storage for stationery, personal belongings or dressing table accessories.

Each drawer retains an attractive brass lion mask ring handle, lending the piece a distinctly Georgian character. Fine inlaid stringing surrounds the drawer fronts, complementing the delicate decorative borders throughout the design.
