Antique Set of Six William IV Period Regency Rosewood Upholstered Balloon Back Dining Chairs, c.1810

A stylish and matching Antique Set of Six William IV Period Regency Rosewood Dining Chairs, c.1810, each retaining the elegant balloon back form that typifies early 19th century English design. Crafted from richly figured rosewood, these chairs combine classical refinement with practical comfort.

The balloon backs are finely shaped, with deep button-back upholstery in a striking gold-yellow damask fabric, finished with brass stud detailing. The seats are generously proportioned and well-cushioned, offering excellent comfort for dining. Cabriole front legs with subtle carved detail and swept rear supports provide both strength and elegance, completing the Regency profile.

This set of six dining chairs reflects the transitional style between late Regency and William IV periods, showcasing both neoclassical influence and emerging Victorian taste. Their rosewood frames exhibit a rich patina, enhanced by the contrast of the bold modern upholstery, which can easily complement both traditional and eclectic interiors.

Perfect for use as a formal dining suite, statement seating in a period room, or occasional chairs in a stylish setting, this set offers the rare combination of decorative charm, early 19th century craftsmanship, and usability.
